Then look no further! I’ve taken the drama out of organising your wedding ceremony.
If you like the idea of having a very memorable anniversary date (how great does the 01/01/2020 sound?! No forgetting the date with this one, haha!) and think getting married with a scenic bayside backdrop is also appealing, why not book in?
When? January 1st, 2020
What Time? Half hour slots between 1:30pm and 4:30pm
Cost? $450 (inclusive of a $150 booking fee to secure your spot.)
What’s Included? All paperwork* and meetings beforehand in the local/Moreton Shire area*, a 30 minute ceremony slot and a short & sweet ceremony consisting of the legals and some minor personalised touches to make it unique and perfect for you, including the use of my PA system to play your chosen songs for walking down the aisle and closing the ceremony.
*Please note that you will still need to order your Official Marriage Certificate from the Department of Births, Deaths and Marriages separately if you/your spouse are planning to change surnames/amend mortgage documents etc. but I can assist with this process to make it as stress free as possible for you.
What IS a ‘simple, no fuss elopement ceremony’?
Essentially, this is what is commonly referred to as a ‘bare bones’, ‘legals only’ or ‘micro wedding.’ This contains all of the legal components and not a lot else. It’s quick, easy and pretty stress free.
For these ceremonies, though, I am happy to play a procession song (a song for you to walk down the aisle to) and a song at the end of the ceremony, both of your choosing, via my PA system.
I am also happy to include a short (roughly 100 word) personalised blurb within the ceremony to make it more special for you, and you are more than welcome to write your own vows for the ceremony as well (but only if you want to!)
The aim of these short and sweet ceremonies is to take the stress away from your wedding plans, but for you to still be legally married and have enjoyed the experience.
How does this work?
You’ll book via the booking form below, selecting your preferred time from the options available. Please be aware that these slots are provided on a ‘first in, best dressed’ basis.
Within 48 hours, you will receive an email confirmation from me which will contain your invoice (to be paid within 7 days) and an invitation to arrange a meeting to start the paperwork at your convenience.
We will meet somewhere convenient to you (either your home or a nearby cafe) to kick off the paperwork and discuss what will occur during the ceremony.
We’ll need to meet once more to sign the Declaration of No Legal Impediment (but this can also be signed on the same day of the ceremony, prior to the ceremony taking place.)
You will arrive at Captain Cook Parade Park (address: 2 Captain Cook Parade, Deception Bay 4508) a few minutes prior to your booked in time on Wednesday, January 1st, 2020.
You’ll get married in a sweet and simple elopement ceremony tailored just for you.
You can go on to celebrate with your friends and family knowing that you’re legally married.
Terms and Conditions:
The package is capped at a maximum of 30 minutes per couple, and up to 10 guests is recommended.
Seating will not be provided for any guests you invite.
Payment of Non-Refundable Booking Fee must be made within 7 days of receiving the invoice.
Balance of fees must be paid at least 14 days prior to the agreed ceremony date.
All fees paid beyond the initial non-refundable booking fee will be returned if notice of cancellation of the ceremony is given no later than one (1) calendar month prior to the agreed ceremony time.
If notice of cancellation is received with less than one (1) calendar month’s notice prior to the agreed ceremony time, a refund of any fees paid (excluding the non-refundable booking fee) may be considered at the celebrant’s discretion.
On the date, you are to provide two witnesses who can understand the ceremony (or two witnesses and a translator in the event where this is necessary) and who are over the age of 18.
The lodgement of the NOIM (Notice of Intended Marriage) with the celebrant, Anita Nicole Higgs, is to occur no later than December 1st, 2019. When lodging this document, the celebrant also needs to sight ORIGINALS of either your passports OR your birth certificates and drivers licences/proof of age cards.
Punctuality – If the relevant parties to the ceremony fail to arrive at the nominated venue at the agreed booking time, the celebrant, Anita Nicole Higgs, reserves the right to proceed to her next commitment(s), and your ceremony will take place following these. (Essentially, If you’re late, no exceptions can be made to extend your half hour slot but I will try to fit you in after the next ceremony/ceremonies.)
Weather – in the event of rain, I will provide a gazebo/shelter on the day and the ceremonies will take place as planned. The location and times will not change. Here’s hoping it stays sunny and pretty!
